Gender Issues in a male dominated workplace
Although the demands on female and male pilots are the same, there are still many challenges a female pilot especially has to confront in her daily flight life. Even with the progress of Gender norming, values, attitudes, roles, capabilities and behaviours of women and men are different. Words such as authenticity and natural ability are often used to describe female behaviour. In this male dominated profession, female pilots to be taken seriously and respected must instil with skilful instinct their professional competence and knowledge while remaining true to themselves.
The accorded comprehension of both sexes` language and behaviour belongs to the pre-conditions for redundant action in crisis. These skills will be learned in this training.
